USTLG

The USTLG meeting on 24^th May 2017 was dynamic and interactive!  Our excellent speakers guided us through a range of new techniques to try in our teaching.  We learnt how to teach students Digimap by encouraging them to look for (fictional) dead bodies and we played Top Trumps with information formats.  We got hands-on with some visual learning strategies, learned useful tips for video production and explained the concept of referencing by building Lego models.

USTLG delegates enjoyed their visit to  University of Chester’s Thornton Science Park – it was quite an experience to hold our meeting in a library building originally designed to resemble a Lancaster bomber!  We heard lots of different perspectives on engaging students with the physical library, its services and its electronic resources.  As always we picked up plenty of tips to apply in our own roles and enjoyed meeting colleagues from across the country.

Another inspiring USTLG meeting took place on 27th November 2015 at Imperial College London. A range of presentations showcased different approaches to using technology in teaching and we enjoyed a workshop discussion on the use of apps.
