Autumn 2018 presentations available

On 28th November 2018 the University Science & Technology Librarians’ Group visited Royal Holloway, University of London and enjoyed tours of the spacious new library.  We heard about Student experience of the library from a line-up of excellent speakers, covering a variety of topics including UX,  wellbeing, Lego, LibGuides and reading for pleasure …  Lots of inspiration to take back to our own libraries, thank you.

Presentations are now available from the Past meetings pages. The day’s tweets have been collected with Wakelet.

Overleaf were our sponsors this time: many thanks to them and to our hosts at Royal Holloway, who made sure everything ran smoothly and made us feel very welcome.

The next USTLG meeting will take place on 23rd May 2019 at the University of York.  If you have an idea for a theme and/or would like to speak, please contact Carole Rhodes.

Autumn 2017 presentations available

On 30th November 2017, a very lively USTLG meeting looked at Understanding postgraduate STEM users, hosted by Cranfield University.  We enjoyed tours not only of the library, but also of the Aerospace Integration Research Centre and got to see (from a distance) Cranfield’s very own airport.

Our excellent speakers captured different viewpoints on supporting postgraduate researchers and many interesting discussions ensued.

Presentations are now available from the Past meetings pages and you can capture the atmosphere of the day by looking through the Storify.

Thanks very much to our inspiring speakers and to the Cranfield librarians for giving us such a warm welcome.  Thank you to ACM for their sponsorship, mediated by Content Online.

The next USTLG meeting will take place on 16th May 2018 at Heritage Quay, University of Huddersfield.  The theme hasn’t yet been decided, so if you have a good idea of something you’d like USTLG to cover, please contact Carole Rhodes.
